Head was left out of the squad for the last two ODIs due to a hectic summer schedule. Head is going through a serious form slump with the bat. Josh Hazlewood has taken his place in the squad.
On his debut in the first ODI, Bartlett emerged as the man of the match with statistics of 4–17, which were the second-best in Australian one-day international history.
According to a statement from Cricket Australia, Bartlett’s rest was decided upon because of “ongoing management.”
After his brilliant debut performance, Bartlett remained composed and acknowledged that chances to represent his country may not come up very often.
