Sandeep Reddy Vanga On Why He Wouldn’t Have Cast Ranbir Kapoor In Kabir Singh: ‘He Clearly Said…’
Animal, the debut film by actor Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has made a lot of money at the box office. Even if they may have reconciled recently, Ranbir was acquainted with the filmmaker’s body of work since Arjun Reddy, his first feature film. After the Telugu drama’s premiere, the actor had even texted him, but the director overlooked it because it was a text message.
According to Sandeep, who spoke with Dainik Bhasker in an interview, he no longer checks his text messages because WhatsApp is where people communicate the most.
My friend Ranbir Kapoor texted me. The practice of monitoring SMS has disappeared after the introduction of WhatsApp. Since WhatsApp is used by everyone, I stopped checking my SMS. I believe Ranbir also showed me the message. I have been missing a lot of people’s messages because of this. Anil Kapoor, Anil ji, had also sent a note.
“Some messages I never read because there are so many that keep coming from the bank, Facebook, and all these,” he continued.
When asked if the actor-director had kept in touch at the time, was there a possibility that Ranbir would feature in Arjun Reddy’s 2019 Hindi version Kabir Singh?Whereas Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey appeared in the key parts of Arjun Reddy, Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starred in Kabir Singh.
At the box office, Animal—which was released in Telugu and Hindi—got a tremendous reception. Released on December 7, the film features Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor. It is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
